Whether it’s outright victory or just the least-disastrous outcome depends on the other people in the session and other factors. Since SBURB may as well be a box full of potential death and destruction, a Seer of Doom will have to be diligent to ensure they can help guide their session around the rocky crags of disaster and steer them to victory, or at very least avoid total disaster. This may sound like a Time player ability, just by nature of seeing doomed timelines, but as mentioned in the Seer explaination, doomed timelines are the domains of all Seers. They see what went wrong in doomed timelines and use this to change the course of events to avoid such terrible outcomes and keep on the path of the Alpha timeline. Just something to be noted for the Strife Specibus later.Ī Seer of Doom essentially can see all the deadly outcomes of actions. I believe Doom to have quite a lot to do with the dual black and white options of a decision (and those happen to be the colors of a Tumor, a deadly device that brings Doom). Since we only have duality-obsessed Captors to work with, it’s hard to tell whether the duality is entirely character based or if it has something to do with Doom. One last note on Doom is that it may be tied to the game construct known as The Tumor. This is the shakiest of details for Doom, but I think it has enough ground to stand on since we know so little about the Aspect. He got the codes for SBURB/SGRUB from Aradia (who found them in her Frog Temple Ruins) and Peixes them back together, with an in-comic mention of him “modifying” them somehow, which would require an understand of the rules, or structure of the code. Lastly with the understanding of structure, Sollux’s coding is a prime example. I also suspect that Mituna foresaw to some extent that something terrible would befall the session and knew it was inevitable so he decided to do something about it himself. As for inevitability, Sollux “noped” himself out of the plot because he knew somehow, whether it was just his Doom Aspect or some unknown-to-fandom asset of his Mage Class, that the whole thing was a big p, inevitable clusterfuck and he wanted nothing to do with it. Mituna, Heir of Doom, sacrificed himself in some ambiguous bid to save the session (you have no idea the level burning desire to know what happened to Mituna that I harbor, and the fleet of headcanons that accompany that desire). Also, as an example, Sollux, Mage of Doom, hears the voices of the doomed/dead. But basically, Doom is most strongly tied to death, as the symbol for it closely resembling a skull might indicate. As such, this leaves a window for vast explaination. Since this is only to frame for a Cruxite Artifact and Strife Specibus suggestions, I shall try not to be too long-winded, but the Doom Aspect is pretty obscure in regards to canon knowledge. The other players will learn it one way or the other, but avoiding dead kids is a good plan of action.ĭoom is a relatively straight-forward Aspect, it deals with death, sacrifice, inevitability, and possibly understanding structure. But for a Seer of Doom it will likely be making sure they voice their concerns about any possible problems and making sure the session listens. Lastly, Seers, like Sylphs, must deal to an extent with deciding when to act and speak out. Once again, not that they can’t be skilled fighters as well, but their God Tier powers will be more defensive. Seers are also another Class that is more defense than offense, they have domain over tactics, and less over attacking and actual fighting. Rose, Seer of Light, had an alcohol problem and Terezi, Seer of Mind, had a drinking problem with Faygo in the Game Over timeline. As for traits common among the Class, there haven’t been any really, but I’ve noticed one (possible) one drinking. It is also mentioned by Scratch that for Seers it is “fully within their domains” to be able to know about offshoot timelines, it just must relate to their Aspect. But less literally than that sounded, it’s mentioned by Doc Scratch in canon that Seers prevent their team from making “grave mistakes”, like they had SBURB strategy guidelines already “imprinted” in their brain. Some other cool facets of being are Seer are that you have a blueprint for the mechanics of SBURB kinda already in your brain. Seers gain knowledge through/by way of their Aspect and use it to guide people around them and their session. I’ll just do a basic overview of the God Tier first and then apply that to the Cruxite Artifact and Specibus, alright?
